The main great room is bounded by solid stone/plaster walls punctuated with openings, this room being the nestled room based on traditional buildings. Solid timber trusses break up the ceiling space.
Large doors slide away to create an open pavilion. The end wall is but glass framing Mt Earnslaw to the north.
Exterior lourves provide filtered screened light from the direct northern sun. This space is open and directly connected to either the sheltered courtyard to the east or to the more exposed terrace to the west. This provides spaces around where one can hunkered back away from winds.
