Lot 31 - Twin Island Block
Southern lowland zone.2.52ha – 6.22 acres. The three blocks that form the southern lowland zone create a very different environment from the more northern zones and blocks. The prevailing aspect is south and southwest as opposed to the northern zones that mainly look north towards Mt Earnslaw and west towards the Humboldt Mountains. The view north and internally to Lake Fyfe is completely obscured by the bluff and hills that rise the north and which at its peak creates the grandstand northern views of lots 28, 29, 27 and 24.
The terrain being less elevated has a more rural as opposed to alpine presentation and the dominant visual connection is with the lake and the immediate islands, Pig and Pigeon, from which this block takes its name.
The southern lowland zone is as the name suggests in the southern extremity of Wyuna Preserve and this affords views down the lake and beyond the Humboldt range directly up the Greenstone Valley and also further south to the Thomson mountains.
The Twin Island Block is a flat site well protected to the north and also offering rural aspect to the east and southeast. Care would need to be taken to avoid visual contact with lot 32 to the south in any design and construction concept.
